Ethel Crowley has lectured in sociology at University College Cork, Trinity College Dublin and with the Open University in the UK. She has published in the areas of women’s studies, development, globalisation, rural sociology and contemporary Irish society. She is the author of Land Matters: Power and Struggles in Rural Ireland (Lilliput Press, 2006) and recently It’s Your Place or Mine? Identity and Belonging in 21st Century Ireland (Dublin; Orpen Press, 2013).
